THE CAT SMILES
UPON YOU

Follow the neon sign and step into the re-imagined groove of an iconic Gold Coast beachside Motel. Originally built in the late 1960’s, The Cheshire Cat in Palm Beach has been restored and revived as a contactless boutique accommodation experience.
Six fully appointed queen rooms and a two bedroom apartment are only a short stroll from the sandy shores of Palm Beach. The nostalgic design blended with lo-fi luxury is your invitation to sunny days, sandy feet, peaceful sleep and good times at The Cat.

Run by locals, The Cat pays homage to its wayward past, and slenderly lopes into each day as an ode to the spirit of the neighbourhood that surrounds it.
Le Plunge
The Cat’s pool deck, available to all in-house guests. Light coastal breezes whisper through the palms and across the curves of this terracotta edged oasis. Imagine you’re laying on the sunbed, after an ocean dip just down the street. Time is still. You stare up at the old motel sign and the incandescent blue sky beyond it, then take a cleansing plunge into the deep pool. Rinse. Repeat. The Sun sets below the wall and beckons you into the night…
The Terrace
An open and inviting communal courtyard with an outdoor rain shower for you to cleanse, converse, co-work or chill. Under the shade of the umbrella trees by day and the glow of the wall lamps by night, all manner of stories are shared, wayward glances are met, and shoes are optional. This is the place where inhabitants of The Cat can come together.
The Locale
The Cat perches on the ocean side of Palm Beach’s southern stretch of the Gold Coast Highway. Only a 200 metre leisurely stroll to the nearest beach entrance, with no major road crossing necessary. Guest bliss.

The burgeoning heart of Palmy is only a few minutes walk from the front door of each room. It’s here you’ll discover an eclectic array of locally owned cafes, passionately run eateries and watering holes, awaiting your patronage. The Motel is only 11 minutes drive from the Gold Coast airport to the south, and 12 minutes drive to Burleigh Heads to the north.

“The freshly renovated motel nestled in Palm Beach has a new lease on life, while paying homage to its roots as one of the Gold Coast’s original motels built in the 1960’s. The property is an ode to the bygone era of quintessential motel culture, but it’s certainly not like any motel you’ve been to before.”
